I've been working long hours - way more than the required 15 minutes a day (in total) this month. But, it comes in fits and starts. I may go a couple of weeks without a single line of code but work full time the next week on just one website.

This month, I have made some updates on Jameela's page. I spent hours one day trying to change the title of this blog, which used to say "My Nucleus CMS." There's just no way to do it. I waded through SQL, CSS, and HTML and I am quite sure now that the only way is to reinstall if you did not declare the name of the blog during installation. Just a warning - you cannot get to it mañana. It was a fun journey and perhaps one I might not have made if it were not for the mistake. I will have less trouble in changing this blog in the future. And now that it is all downloaded I can make changes even while offline!

I've also been working on my online presence. I imagine many upstart web developers have to come to terms with the fact that they might not look so good to the people on the other side of the computer! Some of us programmers previously never had to design more than an algorithm or a CV before venturing into web programming.

So, I've edited my personal website at franciswilkinson.com to look more informational and made my Facebook page's "info" page look more like a short résumé. Further, as I have for the past two years, I changed my gardening blog's skin. And, if you read the blog, you will see I have also redesigned the layout of the garden.

Some designers are purists, I suppose. They design everything themselves. But I imagine that many people would be just as happy having a template adapted for them in half the time and cost it would take for a designer to come up with something new. I intend to become proficient in both.
